Because the magnet is positioned on the side of the socket (and not the end) and clips around the socket itself (and not the wire), this clip has incredible holding power, even in the strongest of winds and even when using the long C9 bulbs.  However the tabs make it very easy to clip on and and clip off a socket.

Most importantly, it can be easily rotated around the socket without removing it to allow for both "left to right" and "right to left" lighting installation.
